How about a tour?
(Available from April through September)
Are you thinking of starting your own homestead or want to get a glimpse of what life is like for families outside of the big city? We don’t have a set agenda and each visit to Buffalo Acres is a little different. But we can offer a fun and informative time for everyone who visits. Plan a visit to our 50 acre family farmstead in the picturesque landscapes of North West Arizona. Join us for a farm tour where you can witness firsthand the daily chores and get up close and personal with our beloved livestock.
We do have to warn you that this is a working farmstead and a “work in progress”! It’s not always neat and tidy like the videos you see on YouTube. Animals don’t always smell pretty and you may even step in one of their…uhmm… deposits! But as you check out the grounds of our farmstead, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the sustainable living that our family and small family farms have worked toward for generations. From the care of animals to successes and failures of high desert gardening, you’ll gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the dedication and hard work that goes into running a small family farmstead. You’ll also be able to check out our plans for the Buffalo Acres Grow Bus that we’re working on – a unique greenhouse on wheels that will be made from converting a retired school bus to a unique gardening environment. You can also visit the Buffalo Acres Chicken Bus – an amazing coop that keeps our chickens happy and safe all year around.
When you’re not walking the grounds or getting to know the livestock, you can play a game of horseshoes or try your hand at archery. You can even sit back and play a slow game of checkers while enjoying the day. However you decide to spend the day, we want Buffalo Acres to be an experience that you’ll remember long into the future.
We greatly value the support of our visitors and offer the opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of our farm through donations. Your generous contributions help us maintain and improve our facilities, care for our animals, and preserve the legacy of our farmstead for future generations to enjoy.
A visit to the Buffalo Acres Farmstead in North West Arizona promises a unique and enriching experience. Discover the beauty of our land, connect with our cherished animals, and embrace the authenticity of rural life. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply seeking a tranquil escape, our farmstead welcomes you with open arms and invites you to be a part of our story.
