Animals are the heart and soul of the Buffalo Acres Farmstead!
Even if they don’t all have names, we know and love each and every one of them. When one goes missing or is sick or injured, everything stops until the animals are all safe again. When you’re living the homestead life you become a “jack of all trades” and when it comes to the animals, Amateur Veterinarian is top of the list. We are about 70 miles from the nearest vet so, out of necessity, we’ve learned to set broken legs, drain abscesses, trim hoofs, give shots, castrate (ouch), delivery babies, dress wounds, and more! But nothing quite compares to walking out early in the morning and having “the herd” smother you with love and affection.
